I was horrified with the music of the 80s mostly…..with the exception of a handful of bands.
One being (waitforit…….)
A hush now fell over the crowd and every ear strained to hear the reasons why.
“Tell us,” they cried out from beyond the haze and the smoke. “Tell us why we shouldn’t call you a stuck in the 80s douche nozzle.”
OK. It’s a simple formula
An interesting blend of rock and blues – minus the one or two grindy hairband ballads you would have had to put up with in this genre – from Philadelphia, PA., no less. Solid riffs. Lyrically not too ridiculous thanks to multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Tom Keifer. Rocking hooks without a doubt.
Plus the fact that Keifer sang with such a strange, yet trademarked vocal affectation, he almost destroyed his ability to sing for good. Now that’s rock n roll.
Happy to report that Keifer’s voice has recovered and I am sure he has long since dropped the unhealthly vocal style for a more normal delivery
Yea, I dug ’em.
